Founded in 1990, the association mandate is:
• To promote and assist to develop an image of a responsible and valuable Canadian industry
• To provide educational, social and collaborative events relative to the glass and metal industry
• To promote the interests and conserve the rights of those engaged in the manufacture, sale and installation of flat glass, architectural metal and related products
• To promote co-operation between it’s members and other groups within related industries
• To gather information related to the industry and to communicate such information to members of the Association and other interested parties

The Architectural Glass & Metal Contractors Association (AGMCA) was established in 1979 to provide a strong and unified voice for Unionized Contractors who, primarily worked in Ontario’s ICI (Industrial Commercial & Institutional) Construction and Building Sectors. AGMCA has definitely played an important and active role in responsibly representing Union as well, Non-Union Contractors on numerous issues that, affect the day-to-day operations of Glazier/Glass Contractor in Ontario.

The Glazier Pre-Apprenticeship program is delivered to selected participants who will be trained to enter the construction industry in the trade of Architectural Glass and Metal Technician 424A (glazier). FTI has designed the program to meet or exceed all MLTSD requirements as outlined in the Pre-Apprenticeship Guidelines. Participants of the program complete hands-on and classroom training, gain safety certifications required to work in the trade, and are provided tools and protective equipment. The final 8 weeks of the program are a paid job placement, where Pre-apprentices apply what they have learned and establish a relationship with an employer.
