Living and working in the Stouffville area has been such a great experience for me and my family. I want to talk about why it’s the kind of community you’ll want your family to enjoy.
Whitchurch/Stouffville has been one of Canada’s fastest growing towns since 2006 because it has so much going for it. And so do neighbouring communities of Uxbridge, Aurora and Markham.
Close Enough to the City
Our town’s 45,000 residents live in a comfortable, spacious area of 200 sq. km and we have access to nature, recreation, hospital, retail shopping plazas, and we’re very close to the GTA.
Residents enjoy clean air, quiet, a beautiful countryside, and a simpler, less stressful lifestyle among the rolling hills of York and Durham regions. It’s safe and you’ll enjoy strolling the streets in the neighbourhood. There are plenty of local fairs and other events to help you meet the local people.
We’re in the trail capital of Canada, and the local forests are a special place to retreat and enjoy the benefits of nature. This is perhaps the most healthy lifestyle you’ll find anywhere in the GTA region.
The Benefits of Country Living
Our commercial area on Main street has grown nicely giving us all the shopping convenience we want and as well, supporting a good number of businesses and jobs.
I’m very appreciative that my staff and I are blessed to serve this community and those from Markham to Uxbridge to Aurora. It’s a prosperous community and one with a friendly spirit. And not so coincidentally, our Junior A hockey team is named the Stouffville Spirit.
Small town life brings a calm familiarity that appeals to incoming residents. So rather than the comfort of a house, they’re actually enjoying the connections and warmth of our community and creating the happiest life possible. Smart move on their part because the quality of life here is high.
Moving to Whitchurch/Stouffville
The Whitchurch/Stouffville area is not cheap but perhaps not more than living in Toronto. Property prices are climbing higher but not quite to the levels in Richmond Hill, Markham, and Vaughan. Home prices here have been some of the fastest rising (about 12.7%) so buying a home was a good investment and should continue to be.
So the choice to move to the Stouffville area might be an easy one. There are several new home developments you could consider, or look into buying an existing home. Some homes may need some renovations, but this may be the right time to buy in this area. Prices are rising and although the local economy isn’t rocketing upward yet, lately, it looks more promising for all of us in Ontario.
Visit our area and see for yourself. It’ll be a nice day trip. Check out one of two wineries nearby, our recreation centre, and plenty of restaurants in downtown Stouffville. Have a great time!
